What factors led to the settlement of the Oro Valley area between 1865 and the 1940s? What prompted the establishment of the town in 1974, and what significant transformations have taken place since then? Join local historian Jim Williams for a two-part exploration of Oro Valley’s history on May 13 and 20 at 2 p.m. Williams, author of “Claiming the Desert” and “Oro Valley: the First Fifty Years,” will delve into these topics. This event is proudly presented by the Oro Valley Historical Society.
