Oro Valley’s art scene stays busy year-round, with galleries, studios, and the town’s public art program. Here’s what’s happening now and what’s coming up.
Galleries & Exhibits
Sonoran Treasures is on view now at Desert Museum Arts, featuring work from more than 38 Southern Arizona Arts Guild member artists, all available for purchase. (Southern Arizona Arts Guild)
Ignacio Garcia: Las Sonoras Paintings opens September 23 at the Tucson Desert Art Museum (Tanque Verde & Sabino Canyon Roads), running through November 29. The show gathers Garcia’s sought-after paintings from private collections around the country, with an artist reception and gallery talk set for October 1. (Southern Arizona Arts Guild)
Closer to home, the Ventana Gallery at Roche Tissue Diagnostics continues its quarterly exhibition partnership with the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance, showcasing local 2D and 3D work; tours are by appointment (48 hours’ notice), Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm — call (520) 797-3959 or email eric@saaca.org.

Local Spotlight: Sonoran Art
Oro Valley-based Sonoran Art, known for archival prints of Sonoran Desert landscapes, recently launched Theresa Poalucci’s Coyote Collection — a series of fine-art prints centered on desert coyotes and wildlife. Classes & Workshops
Toscana Studio & Gallery still has openings in its 2026 adult and kids art programs: adult oil painting with instructor Linda Ahearn meets Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and six-week kids after-school classes (grades 2–12) run Tuesdays from 4–6 pm. The gallery itself — still life, portraits, landscapes, western themes, and bronze sculpture from multiple artists — is open Tuesday–Thursday, noon–6 pm, and Friday, noon–4 pm.
