In our 2024 Businesses of the Month, we included three governmental entities.
First, we profiled OV Path Forward, which aims to provide meaningful citizen participation and visibility as the Town plans for its future. Second, we looked at the Office of Community & Economic Development to learn how OV will continue to thrive in years to come. Finally, we got to see what it looks like on the other side of the badge with our profile of OVPD.
We were also thrilled to profile the work of some of our dedicated local non-profits. The Institute for Better Education has been helping parents pay for tuition and tutors for over 25 years. IMPACT Southern Arizona provides a nutritious food bank, thrift store, and creative perks like helping parents stock a home reading library.
We profiled the new Pet Supplies Plus as it opened its new location in OV in September. We tipped our hats to good taste with Nest in the Desert, which specializes in snazzy, ultra-tasteful desert-inspired décor for the home. And just to make you hungry, we profiled community fave Harvest Restaurant.
“The town has prepared for its own success.”
— Paul Melcher, Director
“My squadmates and I had to chase an emu around. The reason that we cared so much is that it was running in and out of the traffic on Tangerine.”
— Sergeant Eric Larter
“I want to be able to support all children in public and charter schools – as well as those attending private schools. I also realize that there are a wide range of school-related expenses that a child needs to receive a well-rounded education that tax credits are unable to cover.”
— Kimberly Kirschner, Executive Director
“The great value of IMPACT is treating all people with dignity and respect. It is the cornerstone of what we do. No judgments are allowed here.”
— Barbara McClure, Executive Director
“I was very impressed by the level of community involvement in Oro Valley when I first started working for the town.”
— Mayor Winfield
“At our stores, we talk about ‘humanization’ and ‘personalization’ of one’s pet, so it’s really a member of the family.
— “Mich” Bayley, Owner-Operator
“It’s all about the passion project.”
— David Lazarus, Director of Operations
“Your home will not just be transformed; it will be a true reflection of your personality mixed with a touch of desert dazzle.”
— Robyn Halperin, Owner-Operator
