ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (April 7, 2026) – When emergencies happen, clear and timely communication can make all the difference. That is why the Town of Oro Valley encourages residents and businesses to sign up for CodeRED, a free emergency notification service that quickly shares important local information when it matters most.
CodeRED is one more way the Town works to look out for the community by delivering emergency information through phone calls, text messages, emails and social media. These alerts are used for situations that may affect the safety, property or well-being of Oro Valley residents and businesses, including AMBER alerts, hazardous traffic or road conditions, boil water advisories and evacuation notices.
By signing up, residents can help make sure they receive alerts tied directly to their home or business. During registration, users are encouraged to add their cell phone number, verify their address and include alternate contact numbers. Keeping that information current is important, especially in emergencies when outdated numbers, power outages, busy lines or privacy settings could prevent a message from getting through.
For residents with landlines, adding a cell phone or work number as an alternate contact can provide an extra layer of reliability if service is interrupted. CodeRED can also leave messages on voicemail or answering machines, and if a line is busy, the system will make additional attempts to connect.
Businesses in Oro Valley are encouraged to register as well. Business owners can sign up using the business option and provide a direct-dial number so alerts can be received without interruption from automated phone systems.
Residents who receive a CodeRED message should listen carefully to the full notification and follow any instructions provided. To help recognize future alerts, residents may also want to save the CodeRED number in their phones: 866-419-5000 for emergency messages and non-emergency messages.
CodeRED complements the Town’s other communication tools and supports its ongoing commitment to public safety and community awareness. The service is secure, and personal information provided by residents is protected and not sold or shared with third parties.
In Oro Valley, looking out for one another is part of what makes this community strong. Signing up for CodeRED is a simple step residents and businesses can take to stay informed and help the Town share important information quickly when it is needed most. Click here to sign up for CodeRed now.
