ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (March 23, 2026) – The Town of Oro Valley will begin resurfacing the parking lot at the Community and Recreation Center on March 26 as part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve public facilities for residents and visitors.
The parking lot resurfacing project is part of the Town’s fiscal year 2025/26 Capital Improvement Program and is included in the 10-year Capital Improvement Plan. Budgeted at $950,000 from Community Recreation Center funds, the resurfacing will address the parking lot’s poor condition and improve safety and accessibility for everyone visiting the facility.
To help keep the center accessible during construction, the work will be completed in four phases through June 14, weather permitting. Residents can expect some parking impacts during each phase, but access to the facility will remain available throughout the project.
The resurfacing schedule is as follows: Phase 1 is scheduled for March 26 to April 12. Phase 2 will run from April 13 to May 3. Phase 3 Is planned for May 4 to May 24, and Phase 4 will take place from May 25 to June 14.
Additional parking will be available at Town Hall during the project. Residents and guests are encouraged to plan ahead, review the project map for phase-specific details, and consider carpooling or use other transportation options when possible. Signs will be posted at the Community Recreation Center to help direct visitors during the construction.
The Town appreciates the community’s patience as these improvements are completed.
