Mark your calendars, cycling fans! The thrilling Tucson Bicycle Classic roars back to Oro Valley this Sunday, February 25th, with 500 elite cyclists pushing their limits on the 4-mile Oro Valley Circuit Race. Expect heart-pounding action from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm as riders tackle the challenging course around Naranja Park, some even taking on an impressive 11 laps!
“This final stage of the race promises to be electrifying,” says Andrew Fairbanks, Oro Valley’s tourism coordinator. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone to witness the intensity and skill of competitive cycling.”
The Tucson Bicycle Classic, sanctioned by USA Cycling, is a three-day stage race that began with a time trial in Marana on Friday, followed by a circuit race in Sahuarita and Green Valley on Saturday. This Sunday’s finale in Oro Valley will crown the champions and raise funds for El Grupo Youth Cycling, a local non-profit.
Heads Up, Drivers! Naranja Park will be closed to all vehicles except racers on race day. Expect detours and lane restrictions on Naranja Drive, La Canada, Monterra Vista, and Tangerine Road.
Don’t Miss the Action! Prime viewing spots are available, so come cheer on the cyclists and soak up the exciting atmosphere. For detailed race information, course maps, and parking tips, visit tucsonbicycleclassic.com.
