Texas Flood – The Music of Stevie Ray Vaughan
Join us for a celebration of the music of guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, six-time Grammy winner, and widely considered one of the greatest rock guitarists in music history. The show also celebrates the music of his older brother, Jimmie Vaughan, a world-renowned Texas guitar slinger in his own right. Both brothers found major label success throughout the 1980s and recorded one album together, Family Style, released shortly before Stevie’s untimely death at age 35. His style drew heavily on Jimi Hendrix as well as blues masters B.B. King, Freddie King, and Albert Collins, and he had deep roots in R&B, soul, and jazz as well.
This concert strives to capture the electrifying energy of his live shows and features Arizona Blues Hall of Fame guitarists Mike Blommer and Mike Hebert, with vocalist Mike Yarema hosting and backed by an all-star band. Don’t miss this night of soul, R&B, and rock and roll as we capture the excitement of the one and only Stevie Ray Vaughan.
