RTA Next – Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce
RTA Next Ballots Coming Soon
The Pima County Recorder’s Office will begin mailing ballots on Wednesday, February 11, for RTA Next—a $2.67 billion, 20-year transportation plan that would extend the original Regional Transportation Authority program.
Election Day: Tuesday, March 10
Voters will decide on two propositions:
- Proposition 418: Approve the new regional transportation plan
- Proposition 419: Continue the half-cent sales tax established in 2006
Both propositions must pass for RTA Next to move forward.
Important Dates
- Monday, February 9: Final day to register to vote
- Friday, February 27: Last day to request a mail ballot
- Tuesday, March 3: Recommended ballot return deadline (one week before Election Day)
Ballots can be returned by mail or at early-voting locations. For early-voting sites, visit recorder.pima.gov.
How RTA Next Funds Will Be Allocated
- Roadway corridor improvements: $1.42 billion
- Transit: $726 million
- Safety, ADA, and active transportation: $254.6 million
- Arterial roadway reconstruction: $177.6 million
- Wildlife crossings and environmental improvements: $50 million
- Small business assistance: $10 million
