TUCSON, Ariz. — The Southern Arizona Arts Guild (SAAG) invites the public to a special Art & Appetizers event celebrating creativity, community, and the spirit of Mother’s Day. The event will take place at the SAAG Gallery in Joesler Village and will feature live art demonstrations, delicious food, and opportunities to win a unique artwork.
This lively gathering will showcase five SAAG artists creating work in real time, offering visitors a rare behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process. Guests will be able to engage with the artists, ask questions, and experience the energy of art in motion.
Sullivan’s Steakhouse will provide the appetizers, adding to the festive, welcoming atmosphere. In addition, a representative from Tohono Chul Botanical Gardens will be on hand with information about the beloved gardens and upcoming events.
As part of the celebration, SAAG artist Theresa Poalucci has donated her painting, Mexican Courtyard Reflection, which will be raffled off to raise funds for Tohono Chul. Additional prizes, including garden passes, will give attendees multiple opportunities to win while supporting a beloved local organization.
With a focus on meaningful, handcrafted gifts, this event is perfectly timed for Mother’s Day shopping. Visitors can explore a wide variety of fine art created by more than 100 local, juried artists—offering unique and lasting alternatives to traditional gifts.
Located in its new gallery space at Joesler Village, the nonprofit SAAG continues to expand its role as a hub for art, education, and community connection in Southern Arizona. The event takes place on May 6, from 3 pm to 5 pm, so don’t be late!
