Tucson native guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Mitzi Cowell serves up a gumbo of desert swamp funk and smart songwriting rooted in blues and old-school R&B, featuring funky fingerpicking, soulful slide, and blues mastery. An Arizona Blues Hall of Famer and winner of TKMA’s 2012 Tucson Folk Festival Songwriting Competition, Mitzi leads a band of some of Tucson’s hottest players through cool traditional blues and roots-based original music spanning Americana and rock. If you’re a fan of Mitzi’s bass playing at the Gaslight Theatre, come hear what else she’s up to.
