Join us in the Wilson Room for an intimate conversation with master weaver Alexandro Martinez.
Alex and his sisters—Nancy, Socorro, Lorena, and Fanny—represent the fourth generation of a distinguished family of Zapotec weavers. Their grandfather, Eliseo Martinez, founded Casa Martinez in 1936, establishing a legacy renowned for exceptional craftsmanship that continues today.
During this artist talk, Alex will share insights into the natural dye processes used to create the vibrant colors in the family’s exquisite weavings. His deep passion for the craft and commitment to preserving the ancient traditions of his Zapotec ancestors shine through in every heirloom-quality piece they produce.
