Eric Clapton’s remarkable career has traversed multiple musical landscapes, from his blues foundation with the Yardbirds and John Mayall through his hard-driving rock work with pioneering group Cream. The 1970 FM staple “Layla” emerged from his collaboration with Derek and the Dominos, launching a decade that brought chart success with tracks including “I Shot the Sheriff,” “After Midnight,” and “Lay Down Sally.” While beloved ballads such as “Wonderful Tonight” and “Tears in Heaven” showcased his versatility, Clapton has consistently gravitated back to the American blues tradition that anchors his artistry. Tonight’s tribute performance stars guitarists Mike Hebert and Ed Delucia alongside vocalist Mike Yarema.
