The Rillito River Band: Vintage Rock ‘n’ Roll from Tucson’s Musical Heritage
Born on the banks of Tucson’s Rillito River, this vintage rock ‘n’ roll band emerged from a group of lifelong Tucsonans whose musical DNA runs deep through the Old Pueblo’s rich cultural landscape. Their sound reflects diverse influences ranging from mariachi and folk traditions to classic rock, creating a uniquely Southwestern musical experience.
The band draws inspiration from legendary artists including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Thin Lizzy, Van Morrison, The Eagles, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, The Knack, and Tommy James. Audiences can expect to hear beloved songs from these iconic acts alongside original compositions that showcase the band’s creative talents.
The Musicians:
Both Oscar and Russell have earned induction into the Tucson Musicians’ Museum Hall of Fame. Together, they create a rich tapestry of intricate three and four-part harmonies, moving ballads, and energetic rock anthems, all delivered with engaging stage presence and good-natured humor that connects with audiences.
Age Requirement: 16 and older
