SUMMARY:The New Christy Minstrels
DESCRIPTION:Since 1962\, The New Christy Minstrels have captivated audiences with landmark recordings and unforgettable live performances. At a time when folk music was dominated by duos and trios\, founder Randy Sparks envisioned something entirely different — a bold\, full-chorus folk sound unlike anything audiences had heard before. The result was electrifying. The group’s debut album earned a Grammy Award and launched one of the most influential ensembles in American folk music history. Sparks passed away on February 11\, 2024\, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate with fans across generations. \nNow\, for the first time since his passing\, the beloved “Christies” have regrouped and are returning to concert halls nationwide. Their performances draw from the group’s extraordinary catalog\, featuring cherished classics such as “This Land Is Your Land\,” “Today (While the Blossoms Still Cling to the Vine)\,” “Saturday Night\,” and “Green\, Green\,” among many more. \n“We’re thrilled to bring The New Christy Minstrels back to the stage\,” said Becky Jo Benson\, a 27-year performing member of the group. “Our goal is to honor our musical legacy while continuing to deliver the high-energy\, positive performances that have earned us standing ovations for years. Each song in our repertoire is carefully chosen to reinforce our message of national unity and the greatness of American folk music.” \nPlease note: Online ticket purchases require buying a full table. SUMMARY:All Right Now Dance Party *10th Anniversary Weekend!*
DESCRIPTION:The Rillito River Band is a vintage rock-and-roll group whose name traces back to their origins — a building on the banks of Tucson’s Rillito River\, where these lifelong Tucsonans first came together. Their musical roots run deep in The Old Pueblo\, drawing from mariachi\, folk\, folk rock\, and classic rock traditions. Influences span the full breadth of the genre’s golden era: The Beatles and The Rolling Stones\, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Thin Lizzy\, Van Morrison and The Eagles\, The Beach Boys and The Kinks\, The Knack and Tommy James — all of whom you’ll hear at a performance\, alongside a handful of original songs. \nThe band features Oscar Chavez on lead vocals\, guitar\, and bass. Oscar grew up playing in Tex-Mex bands and has performed for President George W. Bush. Russell Long handles songwriting\, harmony vocals\, finger-style guitar\, and bass\, with a musical history stretching back to age 14 across rock\, folk\, bluegrass\, and rock bands including Rocky & His Friends. John McCaleb brings lead guitar\, rhythm guitar\, vocals\, and a seasoned collector’s ear to the stage — widely regarded as one of Tucson’s finest improvisational and finger-style players\, he adds a touch of country to the mix. Rounding out the rhythm section is master drummer “Cowboy” Mike Joyal\, formerly of The Last Call Girls. Oscar and Russell have both been inducted into the Tucson Musicians’ Museum Hall of Fame. \nTogether\, the band delivers a rich blend of three- and four-part harmonies\, haunting love songs\, and full-throttle rock-and-roll — all with the kind of crowd engagement and good-humored energy that keeps audiences coming back. Ages 16 and up. \nPlease note: Online ticket purchases require buying a full table. For odd-numbered parties\, groups\, or to pay with a gift card or season pass\, call 520-529-1000.

SUMMARY:How the West was Sung\, with Joni Harms
DESCRIPTION:This season\, we are thrilled to welcome international-touring Country & Western artist Joni Harms for one show only — “How the West Was Sung!” A multiple Academy of Western Artists Award winner\, Joni earned the top honor of Entertainer of the Year in 2002\, and in 2003 was named Female Vocalist of the Year while also accepting the Song of the Year award from the Western Music Association. \nJoining her on stage is her daughter\, Olivia Harms. Olivia grew up on her family’s 150-year-old ranch in Canby\, Oregon\, where childhood days were spent chasing cows\, riding horses\, and touring alongside her mother. She made her stage debut at just two days old\, and 30 years later\, she is blazing her own trail in country music—blending buckaroo\, rodeo\, and Honky Tonk influences into a sound rooted in western heritage. Passionate about revitalizing the western tradition within country music\, Olivia was the only country western musician featured on Taylor Sheridan and Blake Shelton’s new music competition series “The Road\,” which premiered in 2025. She now lives with her husband on a working cattle ranch in northern California\, continuing to tour the western states and perform at rodeos and western lifestyle events. \nPlease note: Online ticket purchases require buying a full table. SUMMARY:Last of the Red Hot Lovers
DESCRIPTION:The Oro Valley Theatre Company’s February Valentine’s comedy is Neil Simon’s Last of the Red Hot Lovers—the hit play that premiered on Broadway in 1969 starring James Coco.
