DESCRIPTION:The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD)\, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)\, SOBER Project\, Meth Free Alliance\, Oro Valley Optimist Club\, Golder Ranch Fire District\, and Pima County Wastewater\, invites Oro Valley residents\, businesses\, churches\, and schools to join us in a community effort to raise awareness about drug-related issues. Together\, we can discuss solutions and preventive measures to ensure a safe\, healthy\, and drug-free community. \nWe accept medications for disposal\, including veterinary prescriptions and vitamins. Please keep the pills in their original containers for easy processing. This service is completely anonymous\, and all the work is done for you! However\, we kindly ask that you do not bring batteries or household hazardous waste. \nImportant Updates:\nWe no longer accept the following items: \n\nMetal or glass inhalation aerosol containers\nSyringes\, EpiPens\, gels\, creams\, or liquid medications\n\nOnly pill and powder medications will be accepted. Please note that medical businesses and doctor’s offices are not permitted to use this program to dispose of medications. \nWith the DEA’s assistance\, all medications and labels are securely incinerated.
