SUMMARY:Art Meets History: Southern Arizona Arts Guild Paints the Ranch
DESCRIPTION:The Oro Valley Historical Society continues to step into the future by digitizing our archives. As we work\, you’ll get a special look at artifacts that rarely make it into our displays. Exhibits may look different\, but our volunteers will be ready to guide your visit\, answer questions\, and provide additional information.  Museum tours are complimentary\, and donations are gratefully accepted to help us keep Oro Valley history alive. \nToday\, the Society has the privilege of welcoming artists from the Southern Arizona Arts Guild from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. for a time of connection\, exploration\, and creativity. Artists will paint and photograph the incredible scenery surrounding the Ranch.  Visitors to the Ranch will see plein air artists capturing on canvas the beauty of the Catalinas\, the culturally significant historic buildings on the Ranch\, and the sustainable foods and flowers growing in the Heritage Garden. Fun fact: Two Guild members have works of art on display in the Pusch House Museum. \n

Take your time exploring our exhibits\, knowing they’ll be here whenever you’re ready for your next visit.  Self-guided tours are free\, and we gratefully accept donations.\n\nToday\, our naturalist returns to give two gentle one-hour walking tours around the Ranch.  He will share stories about the area’s geology\, geography\, people\, plants\, and wildlife.  Tours begin at the Pusch House Museum at 9:15 and 10:30 a.m.\nGap Ministries returns to the Ranch today with a request for kids’ and teens’ unwrapped holiday gifts: dolls\, books\, Legos\, ear pods\, craft kits\, sports balls\, games\, radio-controlled cars\, make-up kits\, mirrors\, fidget toys\, and trains.  Foster kids need holiday gifts\, too – won’t you help?
