SUMMARY:Artist Daniel Hoffbauer
DESCRIPTION:Dan Hoffbauer – Artist at Work \nMeet Dan Hoffbauer – Artist\, Historian\, and New Oro Valley Resident \nDan Hoffbauer’s artistic journey began at age five with stick figures and unfiltered imagination. Art runs in the family—his mother was a talented artist\, and his sister Julene is an acclaimed pastel painter. Largely self-taught\, Dan has always gravitated toward historical themes\, especially scenes from America’s past. Though he began painting with oils\, he eventually transitioned to acrylics—less mess\, no turpentine! \nFor more than 30 years\, Dan experienced what he calls an “artist’s block\,” unable to finish a single painting. The breakthrough came during a six-year chapter in Northwest Arkansas\, where long walks through the Civil War battlefields of Pea Ridge and Prairie Grove rekindled his creativity. \nBetween 2020 and 2023\, Dan completed 13 major works depicting Civil War battles in Arkansas and even illustrated a book cover. After relocating with his wife Jackie to Oro Valley in June 2024\, he quickly turned his artistic focus to Southern Arizona’s rich landscapes and history. He has already completed—or is currently working on—more than 10 new paintings inspired by the region. \nSteam Pump Ranch \n\nOriginally from Burbank\, California\, Dan is a proud graduate of the University of Southern California. He owned and operated a manufacturing business for over three decades before launching a successful second career in real estate in 2008. Today\, he’s a licensed agent with Tierra Antigua Realty here in Arizona. \nDan remains dedicated to refining his technique and exploring new subjects. He’s grateful to the Oro Valley Public Library for providing a platform to share his work—and welcomes your feedback as he plans his creative future in the Tucson area. \nDan and Jackie have been happily married for 41 years. To connect with Dan\, stop by the front desk for contact information\, call him directly at 479-717-7091\, or email dantherealestateman1@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:U.S. Army’s 250th Birthday
DESCRIPTION:Two and a Half Centuries of Service and Sacrifice\nOn June 14\, 2025\, the United States Army marks a historic milestone—250 years of unwavering service to our nation. From its founding by the Continental Congress in 1775 to today’s modern force\, the Army has stood as the backbone of American defense and freedom. \nA Legacy Forged in History\nWhat began as a collection of colonial militias fighting for independence has evolved into the world’s most capable and professional land force. For 250 years\, soldiers have answered the call to duty\, serving with honor in conflicts from the Revolutionary War to modern peacekeeping missions around the globe. \nThe Army’s story is America’s story—one of courage\, innovation\, and an unbreakable commitment to protecting the values we hold dear. Through two world wars\, the challenges of the Cold War\, and the complexities of modern warfare\, our soldiers have consistently risen to meet every challenge with determination and valor. \nMore Than Warriors\nToday’s Army extends far beyond the battlefield. Army engineers build communities\, Army doctors save lives in disaster zones\, and Army researchers drive technological innovations that benefit society. From cybersecurity to space operations\, from humanitarian relief to environmental protection\, the Army serves wherever America needs strong\, capable hands and dedicated hearts. \nHonoring Service\, Inspiring Tomorrow\nAs we celebrate this quarter-millennium milestone\, we remember the generations of soldiers who have worn the uniform with pride. We honor their families who have shared in their sacrifice. And we recognize the communities across America that have supported our troops through every challenge and triumph. \nThe Army’s 250th birthday is not just a celebration of the past—it’s a commitment to the future. As new threats emerge and new challenges arise\, the Army continues to adapt\, innovate\, and lead\, ensuring that the next 250 years will be marked by the same dedication to duty\, honor\, and country that has defined our legacy. \nJoin the Celebration\nThis historic anniversary belongs to all Americans. Whether you’re a veteran\, a military family member\, or a grateful citizen\, take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary service and sacrifice that has protected our freedom for 250 years. \nHappy 250th Birthday to the United States Army. Thank you for your service\, yesterday\, today\, and tomorrow.
