DESCRIPTION:In the late 1800’s\, what brought people to Tucson\, and then why did they move to Oro Valley? Come find out in the Pusch House Museum at the historic Steam Pump Ranch on North Oracle Road in Oro Valley.  You will be surprised as to the reasons why\, the journey they took to get to our community\, and what they did when they arrived.  The reasons are not the same as those of the people who live here now\, that’s for sure!  Early settlers and homesteaders were definitely a different breed! \nThe Museum will be open each Saturday in January from 9 a.m. – noon\, and docents will be on hand to answer questions.  Tours are free\, and donations are gladly accepted!    \nWE WANT YOU!  \nThe Oro Valley Historical Society is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit volunteer organization\, whose mission is “To promote research\, preservation\, education\, and dissemination of historical information related to the greater Oro Valley area.” We invite you to become a supporter and/or a volunteer. Children 12 and under race for free with paying adult. Swag items will be given to all participants. \nPre-Race Packet pickup: Pickup will be at Fleet Feet Oro Valley (7607 N Oracle Rd #121) on Saturday\, Dec. 30\, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Race day number pickup and registration will be available starting at 9:30 a.m. at Steam Pump Ranch. \nRegistration Links\nClick here to register online. Oro Valley and Marana have partnered to create a ‘Run Through the New Year’ run challenge. Participants over the age of 13 who register and complete both races will receive their Cheers Challenge medal on New Year’s Day at the conclusion of the Hot Cocoa 5K. Bring your Egg Nog race bib to the Hot Cocoa for verification.
