DESCRIPTION:Judy Morgan\, a SAAG member and accomplished painter\, has a solo show at the Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center now through January 8\, 2027. \nNature is Judy’s main focus and inspiration. She paints in watercolor\, acrylic\, and oils\, often working in plein air. Some of those outdoor pieces later grew into larger studio paintings. \nJudy first painted and exhibited marine work in Newport\, Rhode Island. In 1990\, she appeared on Good Morning America\, painting the sailboats in the “Around the World Alone” race. \nAfter moving west\, she settled in Durango\, Colorado\, where mountain landscapes became a favorite subject\, and later in Tucson. Today she spends much of her time painting the Sonoran Desert landscapes of Arizona and Mexico. \nPainting straight from nature\, Judy draws on mountain and desert formations\, the patterns of shorelines and surf\, and the plants and wildlife of the Southwest. They give her an endless supply of new subjects.
