Guns and Hoses, the kickball tournament among local emergency responders, returns Saturday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Oro Valley.
The event, dubbed “Kicks for a Cause,” benefits Project Graduation. It runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Oro Valley Police Department Chief Kara Riley reports up to 14 teams of players from fire, police, and crime scene organizations are competing. Teams from the Oro Valley, Marana, and Tucson police departments, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Golder Ranch, and Northwest Fire districts are signed up. There will be food for sale all day.
“This event was created during the pandemic so that we could still raise funds for the important program of Project Graduation,” Chief Riley said. Project Graduation, which now spans all three Amphitheater Public Schools high schools, is celebrating 20 years at Canyon del Oro High School. “This is quite a milestone in keeping our youth safe,” she added.
Sponsorships remain available. For $500, sponsors get their name on the event T-shirt. Another $500 gets you a logo. To become a sponsor, or to play, contact Mandi Roth at 520-229-4910, or email her at msroth@orovalleyaz.gov.
