Gen Z Committee

The Oro Valley Chamber is launching the Gen Z Committee, a fresh networking opportunity tailored for members typically aged 30 or under. Events Director Makenna Markley, herself a proud Gen Z representative, is orchestrating the inaugural gathering, which will be hosted at Chamber member Stacks Book Club on the west side of Oro Valley Marketplace on Wednesday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m.

Attendance is free, and delectable treats will be available for purchase. “This networking group is crafted specifically for Gen Z, encompassing individuals aged 12-29, although we’re simplifying it to under 30!” Makenna highlighted.

Reflecting on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Makenna remarked, “Our generation has entered the workforce amidst unprecedented circumstances, lacking some of the socialization opportunities that previous generations enjoyed. This space is our chance to convene, share experiences, and offer support. I’m genuinely thrilled to foster new connections and friendships through this initiative!”
