DESCRIPTION:Be among the first to preview this dynamic collaborative exhibition\, which embodies the stories of 21 patients as interpreted by over 12 local literary and visual artists.\nRoche and the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance will host a one-of-a-kind art exhibition focused on understanding the value of regular disease screenings and their associated diagnostic tests. \nThe exhibition highlights the journeys of 21 Roche colleagues across the United States who have experienced a disease diagnosis that impacted their lives. The show hopes to change the way we take notice of and manage our health. You’ll see a myriad of choices that led to very distinct outcomes. \n“Uncommon Knowledge” will make its grand debut with a gallery opening night reception on Thursday\, September 21\, 2023 at the Ventana Gallery at Roche Tissue Diagnostics.\nWalking into the gallery space\, you’ll come face-to-face with each of these patients’ stories. But that’s not all — we’ve paired each of these patients with both a literary and a visual artist\, who\, over the last several months\, have created pieces that tell each person’s story creatively and uniquely.  \nThe public is invited to this free admission event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to experience the exhibition with the artists and patients they were paired with. DESCRIPTION:Cocktail craft and culinary creativity are taken to a new level at the 10th Annual Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance’s Salsa\, Tequila & Taco Challenge. Tequila-infused popsicles\, snow cones\, and mixed drinks will surprise attendees with refreshing colors\, while kimchi\, blueberry-jalapeno\, and “Smokeless Fire” salsas will spice up their palettes. \nMore than 700 attendees support the community while attending this fun event to sample and vote for the region’s best salsa\, tequila\, and tacos from participating mixologists and chefs. Attendees will experience culture at its finest\, combining the culinary arts\, live music\, and entertainment that highlights the strength and diversity in our community. Join us for one of Southern Arizona’s most colorful summer “foodie” events. \nThe event will distribute awards from professional judges as well as People’s Choice Awards in over 15 categories to participating restaurants and exhibitors. \n​Many chefs and mixologists came to the table to win culinary supremacy\, but they are also there to support important charitable causes in the community.
